DEFY THE EARLY SIGNS OF AGEING IN 6 EASY STEPS.
As you age, your skin starts to lose collagen; its upper layer gets drier and tends to get thinner day by day. At the same time, the muscle fibers start losing their tone. All this leads to wrinkles and fine lines, which are followed by under-eye circles, age spots, and sagging skin.
For many, these signs start developing faster than the process of aging. This is mainly due to recent changes in lifestyle, diet pattern, and increase in stress levels.
What most people want to know is, “Can the signs of aging be defied?” The answer is “Definitely yes”!
A change in environment and lifestyle choices does slow down, if not prevent the signs of aging.
We have listed down some ways through which you can ensure a younger-looking skin for longer:
1. Protect your skin from the sun!
Sun is the biggest contributor to age. Sun exposure reforms the pigment of the skin and causes the skin to dry out. This leads to dark spots, wrinkles, and folds. Direct UV exposure further damages the collagen fibers, which not only result in freckles and age spots, but also lead to the formation of spider veins, thinning of the skin’s layer, and discoloration of the skin.
We recommend using a good quality sunblock daily, even during winters and cloudy days. Ideally, the sunblock that you use should have SPF 50+!!
2. Stop smoking!
Smoking contains harmful chemicals that dry out the skin and heavily affect the skin’s appearance, especially if you have been smoking since a long time. As it reduces the oxygen flow towards the skin, it decreases blood circulation, which results in eroded, wrinkled and older-looking skin. If you are a smoker, it’s very likely that you already look 10 years older or more! Along with the skin, smoking also damages the teeth and hair!
There is only one solution, STOP SMOKING and look younger. Once you stop smoking, you can reduce several years from your appearance, and can go back to looking younger and fresher!
3. Eat healthily:
What you eat affects your skin. A well-balanced diet makes you look younger and fresher, as opposed to an unhealthy diet.
If the food that you eat includes too much oil, white bread, sugar, dairy products, and caffeine, you will definitely age faster! For younger-looking skin, we suggest green vegetables, fresh fruits, and food that is rich in Omega-3 fats, oily fish – such as salmon, mackerel, and fresh tuna.
4. Exercise Regularly:
Everyone knows that exercise keeps your body fit, what many do not know is that it also defies the signs of age on your skin.
People who don’t exercise look much older than people who do! This is because; exercise increases the blood flow, giving more oxygen to the skin. At the same time, it eliminates waste and keeps the skin cells healthy and vital. It causes you to sweat, which helps open and clear skin pores, keeping them free from dirt and impurities while enhancing the free flow of air. It also makes the skin more elastic and keeps the skin youthful full and glowing.
5. Cleanse regularly:
Regular cleansing helps you look younger! It deep cleans the skin, exfoliates dirt and pollution, and gently removes more dead skin cells and bacteria.
We highly recommend cleaning the skin at least twice a day, once in the morning, and then at night. Daytime cleansing helps clean your skin off sweat and bacteria that build on your skin while you sleep.
Nighttime cleansing helps you clean makeup, and rid your skin of pollution and dirt that you may have encountered during the day. Also remember, your skin heals as your sleep, clean and well-moisturized skin aids the healing process, and makes your skin wrinkle-free and fresh.
6. Apply a facial moisturizer every day.
We have already mentioned that one of the core reasons for aging skin is dryness.
A good quality moisturizer maintains the hydration level of the skin by trapping moisture in it. This prevents wrinkles, fine lines, and dark circles from developing, making the skin look youthful and fresh. Regardless of the type of skin, use a moisturizer!
