5 BENEFITS OF SUNSCREEN

BENEFITS OF SUNSCREEN

Wearing sunscreen every day is an essential part of your skincare routine, and if you don't, you're exposing the sensitive skin on your face to unnecessary sun damage.

We checked in with our very own Komal Rizvi, a long-time skin care enthusiast, to get her take on the top five benefits of sunscreen use:

MAINTAINS EVEN COMPLEXION

Using sunscreen on your face helps to maintain an even complexion. Sun damage is one of the many causes of uneven skin tones, and using sunscreen on a daily basis can help to mitigate its effects.

PROTECTION FROM THE SUN

One of the most obvious and noticeable advantages of sunscreen is that it protects your skin from the sun's harmful UV rays. Sunscreen actually reduces UV ray penetration into the skin and the onset of a variety of skin disorders. Even the mildest sunburns can be harmful, so it is critical to protect your skin.

AIDS IN THE PREVENTION OF VISIBLE SIGNS OF PREMATURE AGEING

We all want skin that is youthful, radiant, and healthy. However, excessive sun exposure can exacerbate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles [3]. To put it another way, sunscreen can help protect against the harmful effects of premature ageing or skin ageing.

CANCER RISK IS REDUCED

Sunscreen, fortunately, is very effective in lowering the risk of developing a variety of skin cancers, particularly melanoma. This type of skin cancer is known to be extremely aggressive and can be fatal for many women, especially those in their twenties. However, to see the cumulative protection over the days and months, you must apply sunscreen every day.

OVERALL SKIN HEALTH

Komal emphasises that "skin is healthier overall when you use sunscreen," because sunscreen protects essential proteins in the skin such as keratin. These proteins are primarily in charge of keeping the skin smooth and healthy in both appearance and function.

PICKING THE PERFECT PRODUCT

The thought of wearing sunscreen every day makes most customers cringe. Many people are concerned that sunscreen lotions will cause breakouts, make their skin appear oily, and, worst of all, will make them smell like sunscreen all day! Thankfully, skin care products have advanced significantly, and you won't need to apply old-school slimy sunscreen every day to reap the benefits of daily sunscreen use. The type of product you use will be determined by the amount of time you intend to spend in the sun and the activities you intend to engage in, but for our purposes, we will concentrate on sunscreen products that are best for daily use rather than a day at the beach.

Unfortunately, most people's normal days do not include long periods of time spent outside in the sun. That means your daily sun exposure protection probably doesn't need to be higher than 35 to 50 SPF, though you will want to find a cream with broad-spectrum protection to ensure you are protected from all of the sun's harmful rays - we won't go into specifics, but there are a few types. When choosing a product, you should also keep your skin type in mind. Allergy or acne-prone skin will benefit from fragrance- and preservative-free products, while dry skin will benefit from daily moisturisers that include sunscreen.

For All skin types we have created a perfect sunblock which is SPF 50++.
With SPF 50++, TrulyKomal sun block protects the skin from UV rays without making the skin greasy. It is extremely safe for all skin types. It has the following benefits:

  • Infused in Zinc, it protects the skin from the harm full effects of the sun without damaging the skin.
  • It has SPF 50, that provides 98% protection against UV rays.
  • Unlike other Sun Blocks, It does not leave any white residue.
  • It makes the skin smooth and moisturises it.

Applying sunscreen on a daily basis may seem like an unnecessary step to add to your skincare routine, especially if you are simply driving from your car to your office and back, but it is critical to the health of your skin.
